Summed up my feelings perfectly.
It’s gotten to the point for me with their music where, while I was so let down with Overexposed after hearing how crummy it was, by today with V rolling around, I had just stopped caring at all. All of the singles that had been released were lousy and I didn’t expect the album as a whole would be much better although they exceeded my expectations by having at least a few decent songs.
It’s really all the other facets of being a fan that keep hanging in there (including seeing them live, that will always be awesome) but the excitement I once had over them putting out new music is long gone.
And it basically is an Adam solo album, the rest of the band contributed nothing writing wise. And like you said, yo, where are the instruments? It’s fine with me if you are one direction or something but when you are a band ya play instruments on your album. That’s one important aspect that seperates you from the One Directions of the world and makes you a real band. even if it’s a cheesy band. And I mean no offense to boy bands. I love boybands. They make more sincere music than this and they don’t even write. Maroon 5 are just professional seat warmers in the studio.
In the end, it just boils down to one simple thing-they don’t seem to care about putting any real effort into making good genuine music anymore, the kind they used to make where it was a collaborative band effort that took a long time, where they worked with people they’ve known forever, instead they’ll put their name on whatever garbage some outside producers pump out for them to get their paychecks, so why should I care either?
